Ambrel

Legal

Terms of sale.

The short version: you buy Ambrel once, it’s yours to keep, and you get a year of updates. The long version follows.

Who we are

Ambrel is made and sold by Jorge Grima, an independent developer based in Spain (“we”, “us”). You can reach us through our support form.

These terms cover the Ambrel app for Mac and the licenses for it. By buying a license or using the app after the trial, you accept them.

Orders and payment

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

Paddle collects the payment, issues the invoice and handles sales tax or VAT for your country. Paddle’s buyer terms apply to the purchase itself. The price you see at checkout already includes any tax that applies.

The free trial

Ambrel is free for 21 days, with every feature and no card or account. The trial starts the first time you open the app and belongs to that Mac: reinstalling Ambrel doesn’t start it again.

When the trial ends, Ambrel becomes read-only. Everything you saved stays available to browse, search, copy, export, organise and delete. To save new captures and links, or create boards, you need a license.

Your license

When you buy Ambrel you receive a license key. It grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Ambrel on these terms:

  • Perpetual. It never expires and there’s no subscription. The versions your license covers are yours to keep using.
  • One year of updates. It covers every version released during the 365 days after your purchase.
  • Optional renewal. You can add another year of updates whenever you like. The year is added to your current end date, or to the renewal date if that has already passed. It never renews automatically.
  • Up to 3 Macs. One license can be active on up to three Macs at a time. You can deactivate any of them to move it to another.

If you install a version released after your updates ended, it opens read-only until you renew or go back to the last version your license covers, which you can always download.

Please don’t publish, share or resell your key, or try to get around the licensing. We may deactivate keys that are published or used against these terms.

Refunds

You can get a full refund within 30 days of any purchase, no questions asked. A refund revokes the license, or undoes the renewal it paid for. The details are on the refunds page.

Your content

What you save in Ambrel stays on your Mac and remains yours. We never receive it, so we can’t restore it either: keep backups of anything you can’t lose. The privacy policy explains the little the app does send.

Warranty and liability

We work hard to make Ambrel reliable, but it’s provided as is, without warranties beyond those the law requires. To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to the amount you paid for your license.

None of this limits your statutory rights as a consumer, which always apply.

Changes and law

We may update these terms. If we do, the date above will change; the terms in force when you bought your license keep applying to that purchase.

These terms are governed by Spanish law. If you’re a consumer, you keep the protection of the laws of the country where you live and can bring a claim there.
